Finding Balance: The Healing Path to Self
Share
Crystals became an entry point for me into a world of deeper healing. But they weren’t the magic fix I had once hoped for. Early on, I believed that holding a particular crystal or placing it in certain areas would solve my problems. And when things didn’t happen the way I had been promised, I was frustrated and disappointed. But over time, I learned that healing, like crystals, doesn’t happen passively. I had to meet the process halfway, with my intentions, focus, and commitment to doing the inner work.
Reflective Question: What are you hoping crystals or healing practices will “fix” for you?
Mindset Shift: From Expecting “Fixes” to Setting Intentions
I once thought crystals would fix me if I just followed the guidelines, but that mindset changed when they didn’t. I placed an amethyst under my pillow, expecting better sleep, but it didn’t work. However, I now have a selection of intuitively picked crystals under my pillow, along with a letter to the universe. I wrote that letter during one of my lunar rituals, setting intentions for improved sleep quality, better health, and more time spent outdoors. That’s when things started to change, not because the crystals magically worked but because I had set clear intentions and took tangible steps toward them. Putting pen to paper became a promise to myself and the universe, a commitment to making things happen.
Reflective Question: Are you using your tools passively, or are you taking intentional steps toward what you want?
Talking Therapy: Connecting Mind and Body Through Crystals
During talking therapy, I was closed off at first, disconnected from my body and emotions. It was a slow process of opening up. One day, my therapist noticed the worry stone I had tucked up my sleeve, which I had been rubbing anxiously. That small act of comfort opened up a conversation about how I use crystals to ground myself. From there, I felt more able to express myself. My therapist gave me the time I needed to find my way back to my emotions. Over time, with her guidance and through nature walks, I began to rediscover those feelings and re-establish a connection between my mind and body.
Reflective Question: In moments of anxiety or overwhelm, what small tools or rituals help you reconnect to yourself?
Sound Healing and the Emotional Release
I was introduced to sound healing through a crystal sound bath, and it was a turning point for me. For the first time in years, I felt deeply, so deeply that I cried. The sound frequencies seemed to unlock emotions I hadn’t accessed in a long time. But even though the experience was powerful, I wasn’t ready to explore it in a group setting, so I began listening to sound healing at home. There, it became a calming force, allowing my mind to settle, which helped me focus for longer periods when writing and allowed me to switch off at night for better sleep.
Reflective Question: What healing practice has helped you release emotions or calm your mind recently?
Reconnecting with Nature After Burnout
After a period of burnout and isolation, nature became my sanctuary. I remember a particularly transformative walk in the woods with my dogs. The forest felt enchanted that day. Sunlight filtered through the autumn-coloured leaves, casting a warm glow on the mossy floor. The earthy smells of soil and bark were so grounding, I truly felt present for the first time in months. In moments like that, I remember there’s a world beyond my own mind, a beautiful world that reminds me I’m human, just like everyone else, trying to find my way.
When I get lost in my own thoughts, it’s easy to forget this interconnectedness, but those moments outdoors bring me back to it. They’ve inspired me to follow my dreams, to help others reconnect in ways that have helped me heal.
Reflective Question: When was the last time you truly felt connected to nature or the world around you?
