This reading was pulled for whoever finds themselves here during this New Moon in Cancer cycle.
To start, I asked what this reading was about and the King of Swords and Two of Wands came out.
Straight away, this feels like a reading for anyone who already knows something needs to change, but is still trying to decide what comes next. It’s about seeing the situation clearly, being honest about what you’ve outgrown and choosing a direction.
For this reading, I asked:
What truth do you need to see clearly?
The Chariot
What decision or direction are you being asked to consider?
Five of Swords
What is keeping you from moving forward with confidence?
Six of Pentacles
What do you need to leave behind before choosing your next step?
Nine of Wands
What practical action will help you begin this new chapter?
Seven of Wands reversed
What may grow from the choice you make now?
The Fool
The Chariot is showing me that you’re not as stuck as you feel. I’m sensing the feeling of being pulled in opposite directions, with one part ready to move forward while another is still looking back, second guessing or waiting for something outside of you to make the decision easier. But this card puts the reins back in your hands. You get to decide where you go from here.
With the Five of Swords, you’re being asked to look at which battles are still worth your energy. You may be trying to be understood by someone who has already decided not to understand you, or still fighting for a place, connection or situation that leaves you drained. The next step asks you to choose peace over being understood. This will look different for everyone, but it could mean walking away from conflict, no longer trying to prove yourself or win someone over, or even removing yourself from a situation that nobody truly wins in.
The Six of Pentacles shows an imbalance in giving and receiving. You may have been offering more time, care, patience or chances than you’ve received in return. You may also be waiting for reassurance, support or permission from someone else before allowing yourself to move. Either way, your power has become tied to what other people give, withhold or expect.
The Nine of Wands shows the weight of everything you’ve already been through. Your defences may have protected you, but there is a difference between having boundaries and expecting every new situation to hurt you. It feels like you may be carrying old disappointment into places it doesn’t belong, staying guarded and preparing for another battle before one has even begun. You’re being asked to stop approaching the future as though it will automatically repeat the past.
The Seven of Wands reversed asks you to stop fighting everythin. Stop defending every choice or feeling as though you have to prove that your needs and boundaries are valid. Protecting your energy may look less like pushing harder and more like refusing to keep engaging with what drains you.
Then The Fool brings the new beginning. This feels like freedom, trust and the chance to move differently. You might not know exactly where your choice will lead, but you know what you no longer want to carry with you.
This New Moon is asking you to choose a direction, but first you must stop allowing conflict, overgiving and old defences to control the journey. You have the chance to move forward differently. Not by fighting harder, proving more or preparing for pain, but by reclaiming your energy and trusting yourself enough to begin again.
Reflection prompts for this New Moon
Where am I still fighting for something that no longer feels good?
Where have I been giving more than I receive?
What am I protecting myself from that is no longer happening?
What choice would I make if I stopped worrying about being misunderstood?
A simple New Moon intention ritual
Write down the direction you want to move towards. Don’t plan every step. Just name what you are choosing now.
Then say:
I no longer give my energy to battles that keep me stuck.
I trust what I already know.
I choose the path that brings me closer to peace, balance and myself.
Fold the paper towards you and keep it somewhere safe until the next full moon.
Let this New Moon remind you that moving forward doesn’t always require more effort. Sometimes it begins with putting down what was never meant to come with you.
Held with love and intention,
Chrystal
